Underinsured motorist arbitration award on behalf of a
police officer who was rear-ended on I-294 while on his way to work,
suffering shoulder injuries which required surgery. Settlement in the
underlying case was reached after the deposition of the defendant’s own
expert who conceded that the injuries were caused by the car accident and
that the trauma from the motor vehicle accident necessitated the care
received by the client. That testimony was in turn used to help secure the
award in the underinsured motorist arbitration hearing. (Cook County)
