Our client suffered a fractured leg requiring surgery and other injuries when a stair climber device intended to allow him to ascend and descend stairs from the in-law apartment in his daughter’s home fell down the stairs while he was strapped into his wheelchair during a training session for his caregiver. Suit alleged that the device was unsuitable for its intended use because the angle of the stairs was in excess of the maximum permitted by manufacturer specifications and that the manufacturer’s representative did not adequately supervise the caregiver during the training session.
