The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of the log slitter machines manufactured by the Brave Products company of Streator, Illinois. Brave has previously issued two other recalls for this machine. The current recall involves a product defect in the rod retention system. The defect can result in the rapid deployment of the splitting wedge, which poses an amputation hazard. One user of the product has suffered an amputation of his hand due to this product defect.
