Settlement on behalf of a mechanic who was
brought into repair a lift plate at the defendant’s warehouse. While on site
he was asked to inspect an area at the base of the loading dock without
being warned of a rusted-out, mud-covered drain cover which broke
underneath his weight. Client suffered a lower back injury which required
surgery. Settlement also included a waiver of a significant portion of the
worker’s compensation lien. (Will County)
